• B.S. and MBA from Penn State University
• Real-world business and leadership experience
• Former district coach and volunteer
• Raised one child who graduated from WSSD
• Current school board director seeking re-election
Brian’s Priorities:
• Manage finances responsibly and explore new ways to generate revenue
• Champion school safety and address concerns that impact the learning environment
• Retain and attract highly qualified staff and administrators
• Expand opportunities for students to enroll in postsecondary education, enlist in the military, or become gainfully employed
Brian's School Board Accomplishments:
• Board president for two years and long-time chair of finance and policy committees
• Collaborated with business manager and finance committee to invest cash reserves thereby creating a new district revenue stream
• Initiated and oversaw the integration of school security guards and school resource officers
• Increased transparency by implementing the recording of committee meeting minutes and including the minutes in regular board meetings for public review
• Advocated for flexible instructional programs and ExCEL, the district's virtual learning academy
• Supported expansion of West Shore Connect Program to enhance the academic and functional independence of recent graduates with disabilities
• Oversaw completion of two new intermediate schools
• Developed district health and safety plan for post-COVID return
• Co-authored original RFP for the hiring of a new solicitor
• Started transportation committee to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable student transport
